Nine

Well, yesterday my baby boy turned the ripe 'ol age of 9!!!!!! This one has been a hard one for me....I fought back tears at his baseball game every time I thought about it...and looking through his first year scrapbook was tough too!!! He asked me to come have lunch with him at school on Friday...while there all I could think of was how big he was and how he didn't need me as much anymore...I asked him if I could kiss him at school and he said "no." :(

My baby is growing up too fast!!! Seth always makes references like...7 more years and he'll be driving, or 10 yrs and he will be on his mission, We could be grandparents in this many years...... AHHHH!!!!! ...............make it stop!!!

I must say he is a good boy. I am grateful for his love. He is a great big brother....most of the time!!! Sadie and Ella adore him...he is patient and loving to them. He and Hope are really great friends...but he would not admit that. I tell him all the time.... Your sisters will always be there for you throughout your life......and they are going to have alot of cute friends.......so, you better be nice!!!! :) Thankfully that goes over his head at this point....and girls still have cooties. :)

I will spare you all the very long list of reasons why I think Luke is the bomb....but he is a prince and I love the garbage out of him!!!...and he is a good example to ME.

I have to tell you...that at his baseball game yesterday...it was opening day for the Cincinnati Reds....he wore his uniform # 9....on his 9th birthday...and he scored run #9 for his team!!!!

how cool is that?

Happy Birthday Bubba!!!!

a little update

Hi all! I just didn't want another week to go by without updating a few cool things that happened this week. First of all, Miss Hope....had a great soccer game on Saturday...scoring 2 goals (on defense) and preventing about 100 goals from being scored on her team. She rocks! The blue dolphins came out victorious against the pink cheetahs 5-3!! ( can you tell these are all girls teams that picked their own names???:)

The kids are on Spring Break this week.....It has been nice to just chill out. I am all about staying up late and sleeping in!
Luke was able to go to the Parley P. Pratt Party in our Ward this week....where they listen to the whole Book of Mormon on CD and follow along. They began at 6:45 am...and finished at 11 pm. Luke stayed strong and completed the whole thing! Not bad for an 8 yr old!!! We are so proud of him! ( this was all his idea, too)
The kids were probably hoping to do more fun things this week...but we had an unexpected kidney stone rear it's ugly head this week. I spent one night in the ER..and am home now recovering. I am mostly sore and tired at this point...hopefully the worst of it is over. Man, kidney stones are the worst things EVER! Let's all hope this one passes on it's own and won't require surgery. This couldn't have happened while we were insured.....ofcourse. There goes our 10 yr anniversary trip!!!! :( :( :(
oh well...I am just grateful to not be in pain at this point.

March Madness

It feels like madness...and the "official" madness hasn't even begun!

Wow....it has been awhile. The last few weeks have flown by! My roommate from university was in town for a week with her family....then Sadie had a double ear infection....that didn't get better until the 2nd round of antibiotics....The kids have been busy with activities....Seth is busy with tax season...Sheesh!
I just thought I would update a little on each of us quickly before another week slipped away.

Luke : He and Dad just finished their first pine wood derby car this week and weighed it in successfully...it is all ready for the big race on Friday night. He painted it red and named it " The Spicy Taco". I was so glad it weighed in as is should...because Seth was busy coaching soccer...and I have NO clue how to alter the car to make it race worthy! Good luck Luke!
Luke also started the spring baseball season....he got drafted by the Cincinnati Reds....we aren't sure if he will be pitching this year or not...he has a few more weeks to figure it all out. They practice 2 x a week....and it seems like a more serious league..... He loves it!
He has a birthday this month....he turns 9!!!! holy crap.

Hope: I will have to post a pic asap...but this week Hope got glasses. She hasn't been able to see a darn thing! I felt so bad.... She is super cute in her new glasses...and enjoys reading all sorts of signs everywhere! Hope is also playing her first ever season of soccer. Seth is her coach and her best friend, caroline is on the team as well. Her and Ella's games have been at exactly the same time...so I haven't got to see her in action yet...but I will this week!! I am excited! Hope has also very much enjoyed having a new baby cousin, Carlie....Adam and Christine's newest addition. Hope loves to hold and feed her...she is such a natural...babies love her..

Ella: Ella continues to enjoy preschool and ballet class....and is playing her first season of soccer as well... She has scored a goal in every game! Go Ella! She looks too cute in her uniform....the trick is keeping her out of the uniform every other day of the week. Ella is such a party to hang out with. I will miss her so much when he goes to kindergarten.....she is one of my best friends! She makes us laugh outloud every day.

Sadie: Well, it looks like we have the ear infections under control....it was rough...poor thing!!! She is sleeping better and seems to be pain free...she was a huge beast for a couple of weeks!!
She is talking more and more ..but prefers to listen and observe. She loves reading books...she will sit and read for a half an hour by herself! It is awesome! She loves her siblings sooooo much....time for another??????( if I could order one online...maybe)

Seth: We are grateful for the tax season this year...probably for the first time ever...for the income..Things are picking up slowly in the business and we hope to recover completely over the next few months. I think Seth is gearing up for a big Triathlon in St. George this Mother's day weekend...so we'll see! Training time isn't exactly plentiful these days. He is enjoying coaching Hope's soccer team and is doing a great job! We sure appreciate all of his hard work!

Me: I am still doing the couch to 5K...I am half way though week 5....of 9....I am getting stronger and I am sticking to it! Thanks goodness for friends that encourage me to go...when I don't want to. I have been doing a little scrapbook for hire work and am finished with my latest project and looking forward to scrapping my own kids for a bit!
We hope all is well with everyone...we love you!
