Merry Christmas!!!

We just wanted to wish everyone we know and love a very Merry Christmas. We wish we could be with all of you during the holidays. I promise to take lots of pictures of the kids and post them.
Believe it or not, another rental fell through,...this time the owner decided to move in rather than rent it....so we STILL do not have a place lined up....and we have to move next week. I have looked at SO many....I dream about these houses at night ( if I can sleep).....Nothing feels right...and when it has felt like a go....it falls through. I am starting to wonder if homelessness is something we need to experience or something! It is crazy.

I continue to pack and try to keep the kiddos entertained...even though we packed all of their toys...good thing tomorrow is Christmas. We are all set and ready. Thanks to everyone who helped make this Christmas great for our kids. They are going to be so excited tomorrow. I can't wait to put on our Christmas jammies tonight and chill. I am going to pretend that we have great house to move into...and all is well. It almost is, afterall. :)

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!

thankful

I have put off updating this ...because I was waiting for something fun and exciting to happen...like a new house, etc....but instead so much bad stuff keeps happening. It is almost comical at this point....and I don't dare say it can only go up from here...Although things stink at the moment...I have alot to be grateful for.
The other night I was in tears over our one family car. It died on Thursday while Seth was driving to a client. We had it towed to a repair place and were told that it would cost around 3000$ to fix. Not good .....not now....not possible.
I felt buried under that van, having to be out of our house by Dec. 30, by packing, by Christmas and Ella's birthday, by sending off a dear friend I will miss, and by spending another holiday without any members of my side of the family.
The door bell rang and I answered it.
The rough looking character told me about a home that he lived in 2 yrs ago...that helped him on his way when he was homeless and a struggling alcoholic. ( I remembered we had donated to this home last year) My heart dropped a little as I had to tell him, I really had nothing to give him. I had nothing to give.
That didn't sit right with me....so I quickly asked..is there anything else I could give or help with?
He told me that they just started accepting women into this home and needed clothes and hygiene supplies for them...desperately. I had just filled 3 garbage bags of old clothes to donate...so I gave those. I gave half of my soap, shampoo and hygiene products I had. I realized how much I take for granted the good life I live. It humbled me to think of these ladies...who would be so grateful for a bar of soap, a daisy razor and maxi pads. ( sorry I said maxi pads!)....and I realized that I have so much.....even if so many things feel like they are crashing down on me right now...I have SOOOOO much.
If you are reading this....I probably love you....(if I don't...stop reading this you weirdo).....I am grateful for wonderful people in my life.
Thanks for all you are and do! mwah! oxxoxo

my life!

This little lady is too funny. The other day while trying to help her out of a shopping cart we had the following conversation:
ME: Sadie, let me hold your drink while you climb out...
Sadie: NO!!!!
Me: Here...just let me hold it for a sec..then I will give it back (while juggling grocery bags)
Sadie: No, MOM!!!!
ME: ( getting annoyed now) Sadie...give me the cup!
Sadie: pauses...gives me a dirty look...and says "IF's MY LIFE!!!!

she is 2..... look out world!

our little ballerina

Ella is getting ready for her nutcracker performance next month as one of the mice....she is very excited...and super cute!!!

Happy Birthday Halloween!

That is what Sadie kept saying in place of trick or treat....I hardly wanted to correct her..it was so cute!

it's been awhile

I haven't felt like blogging lately. So much in still up in the air.....and I have no answers for anyone. But, my kids are still cute...so here ya go:

a good week

I have a feeling this week is going to be good....
a job for Seth? a closing date on the house? happy children? winning sports teams??? all of my favorite shows back on???....or maybe every just everyone getting along and nothing horrible happening..... we'll see.......

Today is Hope's 8th Birthday!!!! I can hardly believe she is so big....we are having family over tonight...but the friend party is on Friday...where we will be crafting and playing American Idol and eating yummy food, of course. I will post pics of our creations! It should be fun!
Hope has been such a blessing in our lives....those that know her...know I am just not being one of those annoying parents that blogs like their kid never makes mistakes..and is so much better than your kid. She is the first one to admit she is no better than anyone. She is special. She is a gift. I wonder what she will do in her life, other than loving so unconditionally, because I know she has a great purpose to fulfill. She never whines....she never asks for things at the store, she never complains. I could go on, really...but you get the idea. Being her mother is an honor and a privilege...one I strive to be worthy of...and not mess up.
I love this girl with all my heart.
October 17th she will be baptized!!!!! I will talk more about that later!

Here's hoping we all have a good week!!!

seriously.....

I am trying to cut costs and be frugal during this difficult economic time. Seriously....this sucks.
I think I may have learned my lesson for reals this time. ( I love to say for reals)
Local friends and family ...Michelle and Adam and Christine and their traumatized children may remember the "Quasimodo" eye I was sporting a couple of months back. IT started to swell my whole side of my face...so I went to the Urgent Care...or the clinic as us Canadians say....got meds and it got better the next day. The Dr. wasn't sure if it was a bug bite...cause there was a little red dot above my brow...or if I had an allergic reaction to some cheap dollar store eye shadow I tried the day before...or if it was an infection.
So....anyway....my eyeliner ran out. Years ago...I used Elizabeth Arden eyeliner only.....and then we had kids....cut costs...whatever....I found a cover girl one that was 7- 10$ that worked great...and they discontinued it.....I have been successfully using some 9$ one from Maybelline i think. I stooped to the dollar store level and bought some eyeliner there the other day and used it yesterday.
Today - I am Quasi again!!!!! So ugly...I can't even go to Church. So, here I sit at the computer....realizing that my initial thought of......hey!...I'll scrapbbok for 3 hours!.....doing down the tubes....I can't even see out of that eye and it is starting to hurt. so sad. so ugly.

random thoughts

I think I may have killed some neighbourhood cats....they feasted on a mess I cleaned up but forgot to but in the trash can of shards of glass in chicken pot pie. oops. I have guilt...but I felt a little better when I realized they had peed on my welcome mat.

We are the worst parents - we sent our kid to school with a small video camera to film the tirades of their bus driver...who I hate! Hate is bad, I know...but he is horrible. He blows a loud whistle...to the point that my kid's ears ring for hours....he yells...he turns off the air conditioning when the kids aren't sitting down like he would like them to be....the kids are red faced and boiling when they get off. it must be 120 degrees in there! I called his supervisor and the school....
He treats them so crappy....no feet, legs backpacks in the aisle...or he pulls over the bus. The dude literally has to go 1.5 miles to the school.
PLUS, one day I was turning into our neighbourhood..and Seth called my cell phone..I picked it up right before I turned and didn't put on my blinker....and he was at the stop sign in the bus, waiting to turn................. and he ROAD RAGED me....yelling, arms flying....the whole bit.
I just don't think he has the best job for an angry old man with road rage.
He has upset the momma bear.....look out!

glee is on tonight....can't wait.

update

I originally started this blog, so those who live far away could read up on the kids mostly...and I haven't posted pictures in a long time...sorry about that....but Seth isn't home at the moment to help me...pathetic, I know.
But, anyway.....
We accepted an offer on the house!!!!...now we just have to play the waiting game and see if everything goes through...the greatest part of it is that I don't have to be a mad crazy cleaner anymore...whoo hoo!!!! Man, that was taking it's toll on me! It made me think of all the people who keep their houses like that all the time...ladies!!!...there is alot more to life.....not to judge...but that is a whole lotta crazy! My kids would not be the kids they are if I spent every waking minute cleaning....and they are pretty awesome kids...so I think I made the right choice. I Am totally tooting my own horn here...and I hate when people blog about how awesome they are...but oh well....I don't think I am awesome....just glad I read Where the Wild things are and Rumble in the Jungle 500 x a piece!!!!...and painted, played, cooked, and made messes with my kids over the years! what a blessing it has been to be a stay at home Mom.
That being said...it was nice to have it clean when I walked in....for those few fleeting moments...I clearly need a maid. :)
Luke has started practices for fall baseball...only 3 practices a week....with one car.....easy peasy! ( not really). He loves it though...he also got his progress report...he and Hope...all A's!!!! Dad let them mark off a chore for each A.....Lucky!
Hope starts practices tonight for soccer...Seth is coaching again. It is great to see Hope out there on the field...gaining confidence. I just adore that girl! She has a birthday coming up...and a baptism!!! She will be 8 this month!
Ella started ballet again this month...she loves it! If she could stop losing her shoes I would be alot more happy!!! My sister in law and I switch off teaching the girls preschool a couple of times a week...Ella and Lucy love it.
Sadie is potty training. I had to do some lame tests here at home for my kidney stone dr...and we had to be homebound for a couple of days...great time to be naked and potty train. She only peed on the carpet once. She is so funny and sweet...and sassy and feisty too! She is great company. She is really doing great! I forgot how much I hate wiping bums though.

This week has been the best week I have had in a long time. There is a better feeling in our home and things seem like they are going to start to turn. The stresses have not gone away... the ones that do go, seem to quickly be replaced with new ones...but we have so much to be grateful for. WE are blessed and so many people have been kind to us. Thank you!
I have been humbled lately...and seen a few ( of many) areas where I can do better. I am trying. I hope I learn what I am supposed to through all of this.

cougars

As I am driving the kids to school this morning, my usually quiet in the morning boy, leans over and says to me
Luke: " Mom,...today is a very special day for me and Dad."
Me: (pauses)...."really?"...( I am frantically thinking if I spaced something)
Luke nods and follows with :
" Today is the day they come out with the college football rankings and BYU is going to be moving up..."

Seth is proud.

The end of summer???

I keep hearing everywhere that summer is over and fall is in the air...NOT in ARIZONA!!! It was 114 degrees yesterday!!!...and in a couple of months, the nights will cool down and the mornings will be cool..and we can be outside again ( and not have to be at the pool)
I miss those days!!!
I used to really like fall....we don't have fall here...it seems. Last year I went home in late September. That was fall.... it was delightful!

I always read a whole bunch in the summer...being stuck indoors..and having occasional insomnia. I wondered what all of you have been reading....and don't say scriptures...they don't count for this one. :)
So far, I have read:
Dead Until Dark - book one of the Sookie Stackhouse series...too much vampire sex for my liking...so I am going to skip the series.
Three Cups of Tea - book about a super awesome humanitarian Greg Mortensen...fighting terrorism by educating people....it was long..but I am glad I read it.
Night - a holocaust survival book by Elie Weisel...Knowing he lived made it ok for me to read..I usually can't handle holocaust stuff...it is very upsetting to me. I am glad I read this one though. It was short, but intense and it made me wish I knew a Jewish person that I could hug and say " The suffering of your ancestors is significant to me in my life and I am am so sorry for what they endured.
I started Columbine....by Dave Cullen on CD...but I am 12 on the list at the library..I was 64 at one time!
I want to understand how these things happen..something about this tragedy haunts me. I gave up..and will wait for the book. I am pissed now, that I know that so much info is sealed until 2012...in regards to the families of the shooters...that is an area I was particularly interested in.
I am weird, I know.
I almost finished the Potato Peel Society one...but I should have known better than to read something like that...I hate movies like that...so I bailed...Christine told me the end though.
Expecting Adam...just started... I love true stories....
and I have Jennifer Weiner's Best Friends Forever to read in the next 2 weeks as well.

So, what are you reading these days? I am interested!

WARNING: I am grumpy...just a little

Just letting you know up front.....

Today has consisted of what most days consist of lately...CLEANING. Someone had the decency to give me 24 hours notice on seeing the house today at 1:00. ...so I I cleaned for 2 hours this morning...while chatting on the phone with my sister...which made it not so bad. Thank you Dora for those precious hours. Our call got lost and I noticed I had missed 2 calls. So...I check my messages...and ....OFCOURSE....
"Hi, I am so and so ..wondering if I could bring my client to see your house 5 minutes ago?..or maybe in 3 seconds..whatever works best for you....???
Whatever...she really said around 10:00. So, I run to the nearest clock...it reads 10:20. CRAP!!!
So, I quickly call her and say..I need at least a half hour more...I still needed to vacuum the whole house...sweep and take out trash. She agrees and I am like a mad woman running through the house trying to be ready to leave in 30 mins... Thank you Dora again, and the episode about Swiper's birthday party that my girls had never seen and were glued to the TV.
SEth is running behind at this point...and is still home working...but needing to leave. I tell him to shower now..or we will have to start charging for these walk throughs..:)
The girls and I jump in the car and head off to drop books off at the library and be back in 25 mins, so Seth can leave. Literally just down my street, my phone beeps that I have a message.
" Hi there, I spoke with you earlier...yah...we aren't going to be able to make it today...my client's husband's car broke down and she has to go meet him....sorry for making you clean , but I guess you had to clean anyway, since you have that 1:00 showing."
I am pissed. I repeated her message outloud as I fumed. Then Ella pipes up with:
"Mom...isn't that so sad?"
ME: Yes....I can't believe I rushed all around for NOTHING.!!!!!
Ella: That is just so sad..Mom....
me: I know!!! today sucks!
Ella: I am so sorry that that lady's car broke down...that never happens to us..we are lucky.
DING! DING! DING! I was shaken from my selfish, wo is me, poor attitude by my wise and wonderful 4 yr old. Thanks Ella!
but I am still a little grumpy..... we got out of the house at 1:00..Seth had the car so we were taking the 2 foot express with the double stroller...in 106 degree heat.... We only made it around the corner to Michele's house where she let us in and gave us water and let us hang till the kid's bus came at 2:00!!! Phew! thank goodness for friends!
Then...we walked home to find that THEY NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP!!!!!!
This is life right now...but thanks to Ella, I can realize it could be worse...and we are blessed, even when things seem crappy. I need to focus on the little bits of goodness here and there...
thank goodness i get some girl time tonight!! woohoo!!!...I think that will help!

We're back!

We made it! 4 states later...we are home. I must say, that after most vacations I am ready for home...ready for my bed and just ready for our regular routine. ( mostly I just like walking around in my underwear!) This time, I was sad to leave...and wasn't looking forward to coming home. I think alot of that may have to do with the fact that I was sick for a full week while there...like in bed all day sick. I wasn't looking forward to the constant cleaning and showing of the house either! ( 3 times so far today!)
I was really looking forward to having lots of time to see all my friends and family...with no big rush. That did not happen...I missed a few friends even!
It was great to see extended family and good friends that I miss so much.... love you guys!!!....and a big thank you to all that helped with my kids while I was sick.
So, here we are.....got back Sunday night....the kids started school Monday morning! Can't say we didn't make the most of our summer!
Back to showing the house, homework, piano, scouts, baseball, soccer...all the regular life things. As hectic as it has been so far....I realize that I love Arizona...and I really don't want to live anywhere else.
It feels like we have been gone longer than 3 weeks......we have a lot of catching up to do.

Feel free to stop by......but I may be in my underwear....:)

luke's race video

Check out Luke's backstroke............ in his speedo......so cute.

Luke & Hope Summer Swim Meet

Well, we have come a long way from holding onto the lane lines mid race and the realization that your first year on swim team may mean you will lose a few races..... We told our teary eyed kids after the first meet when they wanted to quit...that this season was about getting better and improving over the summer. We wanted them to work hard and see if they could improve their times over the course of the summer.
They spanked their old times!!!!
Luke improved 20 seconds in his 50yd free, 7 seconds in the backstroke and 9 seconds in his 50 breaststroke!!!!
Hope swam 33 seconds in the 25 butterfly ( her first time racing this one....finishing 2nd in her race) She went 3 second faster in her 25 breaststroke and she got 2nd place in her backstroke race!!!!

We are sooooo proud of them...for sticking with it and improving so much. Way to go Luke and Hope!!!!

Will they swim for Canada or the USA in the Olympics???? hmmm............

Check them out: Hope is in the pink bathing suit in lane 3.

Miss

Okay - twice already this week,( and it is only Tuesday.) random people have referred to me as Miss....
I flat out told the cutie at Fry's, that " I love that you just called me that!"
he said it again.....and one more time.

Today, I was driving away into the carwash ...and I had no reply.

What does that mean anyway, ..............Miss?
Seth thought it meant unmarried. I thought it meant young.... What do you think?
I think I am going to go with....

Miss ="You look naturally beautiful without any make up on today....and that no shower today look is working for you, baby!"

Happy Canada Day

It's is my country's birthday today....woo hoo!!!

Some very cool unknown person put a whole bunch of mini Canadian flags all around our front yard - so cool...that just made my day!

Ofcourse I wish I was home...to eat some good back home food....and hang with my peeps...but oh well. The kids and I sang "Oh Canada" and we will make out traditional maple leaf/marijuana shaped sugar cookies in a bit! ( the cookie cutter is getting warped!)

We should totally watch Strange Brew tonight too.

I can't stop drinking it. really....

Greg's wedding

My nephew Greg got married this month and both my sisters were here in town. What a treat! It was so much fun...and so sad to see them leave... I tell ya, Mormons throw a boring wedding, comparatively. It was alot of fun! I had gotten used to the 3 nuts on a plate with communal punch for all....I hope we can help our kids have fun weddings.

Sadie turned 2!!!!!

Little Miss Sadie turned 2 on the 25th....sharing the day with Seth! We had a little BBQ at the pool with cousins and Seth and I went out for dinner and brought home Daisy!

Meet Daisy

Here is the newest member of our family....Daisy....the kids adore her.....I think I may have lost my mind to take on any extra right now...but oh well! She sure is a cutie!

Pictures...FINALLY!!!

I scored a camera for Mother's Day....so I can finally post some pics....

Luke's baseball season ended...the Reds had a good season...Luke won most improved player on his team. We had a fun pool party to celebrate the season. It was a big committment on all our parts....we are signed up to do it all again in the fall!...we might be crazy.

Eat Meat

Well, veggie boy got his results of his cholesterol back....and he was less than pleased. After enduring a month of never quite feeling full or satisfied.... eating on average 10 bowls of cold cereal a day, and not eating ANY meat at all....hoping that this nasty high cholesterol issue would be remedied......
(it just dawned on me that he might not want me to post the actual number on here.....he is asleep, so I can't ask....)
Let's just say it went UP.......not down, like he had hoped. :(
While I am sad that my husband's arteries are hardening as we speak, I will be grateful for a meat eating man back in our house!!! Seriously...I could barely figure out what to cook most nights!!! Hopefully, he will be full ...and not so grumpy. :)... AND we can find a way to lower his cholesterol.
As for the rest of us.....Luke gets to pitch this Tuesday at his baseball game....The Reds are in a bit of a slump.
Ella has a dance recital coming up.....the kid's are almost done with school....Hope was her normal sweet self all week...loaning her brother money, so he could buy his own ticket to the Dbacks game last Saturday. ( usually she just gives it away.....she is a saint, I tell ya!) Sadie had a bad fall off the bathroom counter onto the tile....there were lots of tears, her , Ella and myself....We thought we might have to take her to the ER.....and rack up another $10,000 bill. Thanks Michelle for calling Dr. Grandpa and helping me feel better. It was scary!!! I absolutely hate worrying about health care costs when my babies are hurt!!!!!! She's all good, though....Everytime she climbs up on something I now say, Oh No, Sadie, we don't want you to get another ow-wee....and she quickly grabs the back of her head and says "ow-wee" with her best hurt face...and backs down.

The Jardines are coming into town next week, and the week after that BOTH of my sisters are coming here for my nephew's wedding....yes I am old enough to have a nephew that is of appropriate marrying age.... :)
I am sooooooo looking forward to some sister time......
I seriously need a new camera....or any camera at this point...
I am sick of my writing...so I can't imagine what the rest of my readers feel!!!!

I am a bad blogger

You know it's bad when you can't remember your password to log in and update your blog....that about sums up the week had by me around here. I'll spare you the deets and tell you how everyone else in the family is doing....
Seth is done with tax season....woo hoo! and...oh, crap.... all at the same time. With losing so much business...we were very grateful for the extra work and income tax season brought with it this year.....We are hoping for some new business here soon.
He has also decided for the last few weeks...he is a vegetarian. A grumpy one, at that. The man needs some protein!!! He is hoping to lower his cholesterol....he will be tested in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
Luke is 3 and 3 in his baseball season, barely losing to the DRays today.10-8. He played well...but is always so hard on himself...he is his own toughest critic, that is for sure. Linda assures me that Seth was this way....and grew out of it...so here's hoping. It was a hot day today...I got sunburned....but I still had fun cheering on my boy. It is so exciting and nerve racking, and fun!!! Competition doesn't always bring out the best in me...and I know I could be better in helping Luke deal with the stresses of team sports. Today, he came to me, and told me that one boy on his team kept shouting at him that he was supposed to cover second...( no play at the time)..Luke acknowledged him, and he wouldn't stop. So, what does the good example parent suggst he tell the team mate. "Tell him to shut his pie hole, he's not your coach!"
Luke seemed satisfied.

yep, no Mother of the year award here.

Hope had her last soccer game this morning....with Dad as her fabulous coach. They had a great season and all wanted Seth to coach again in the fall. Hope really improved over the season, and is one heck of a defender...that now scores a goal every game. go Hope!!!
She had some friends out shopping today and then over for a little American Idol on the Wii...good times. I am still planning on posting a pic of her in her new glasses, but I lost the camera.
Ella finished up her soccer season as well today. She pretty much hated it. She loves her trophy and the snacks that follow the game. Maybe T'ball in the fall. She only has a month left of preschool and then begins swim lessons again! She is so funny, I am so glad I get her home for another year!!! What will Sadie do with her???? She runs and embraces her when she is gone to ballet...
What will I do????
Miss Sadie....she has had a rough week. I am assuming she is teething....the last of her teeth are coming in. She has been difficult and demanding....hopefully teething and not just the terrible 2's around the corner. She is talking so much more, and can count to 4. ( very sweetly I might add)...gotta love baby pronounciation..... She is the official dancer of any and all music at our house....we love it!

we are blessed.....

Nine

Well, yesterday my baby boy turned the ripe 'ol age of 9!!!!!! This one has been a hard one for me....I fought back tears at his baseball game every time I thought about it...and looking through his first year scrapbook was tough too!!! He asked me to come have lunch with him at school on Friday...while there all I could think of was how big he was and how he didn't need me as much anymore...I asked him if I could kiss him at school and he said "no." :(

My baby is growing up too fast!!! Seth always makes references like...7 more years and he'll be driving, or 10 yrs and he will be on his mission, We could be grandparents in this many years...... AHHHH!!!!! ...............make it stop!!!

I must say he is a good boy. I am grateful for his love. He is a great big brother....most of the time!!! Sadie and Ella adore him...he is patient and loving to them. He and Hope are really great friends...but he would not admit that. I tell him all the time.... Your sisters will always be there for you throughout your life......and they are going to have alot of cute friends.......so, you better be nice!!!! :) Thankfully that goes over his head at this point....and girls still have cooties. :)

I will spare you all the very long list of reasons why I think Luke is the bomb....but he is a prince and I love the garbage out of him!!!...and he is a good example to ME.

I have to tell you...that at his baseball game yesterday...it was opening day for the Cincinnati Reds....he wore his uniform # 9....on his 9th birthday...and he scored run #9 for his team!!!!

how cool is that?

Happy Birthday Bubba!!!!

a little update

Hi all! I just didn't want another week to go by without updating a few cool things that happened this week. First of all, Miss Hope....had a great soccer game on Saturday...scoring 2 goals (on defense) and preventing about 100 goals from being scored on her team. She rocks! The blue dolphins came out victorious against the pink cheetahs 5-3!! ( can you tell these are all girls teams that picked their own names???:)

The kids are on Spring Break this week.....It has been nice to just chill out. I am all about staying up late and sleeping in!
Luke was able to go to the Parley P. Pratt Party in our Ward this week....where they listen to the whole Book of Mormon on CD and follow along. They began at 6:45 am...and finished at 11 pm. Luke stayed strong and completed the whole thing! Not bad for an 8 yr old!!! We are so proud of him! ( this was all his idea, too)
The kids were probably hoping to do more fun things this week...but we had an unexpected kidney stone rear it's ugly head this week. I spent one night in the ER..and am home now recovering. I am mostly sore and tired at this point...hopefully the worst of it is over. Man, kidney stones are the worst things EVER! Let's all hope this one passes on it's own and won't require surgery. This couldn't have happened while we were insured.....ofcourse. There goes our 10 yr anniversary trip!!!! :( :( :(
oh well...I am just grateful to not be in pain at this point.

March Madness

It feels like madness...and the "official" madness hasn't even begun!

Wow....it has been awhile. The last few weeks have flown by! My roommate from university was in town for a week with her family....then Sadie had a double ear infection....that didn't get better until the 2nd round of antibiotics....The kids have been busy with activities....Seth is busy with tax season...Sheesh!
I just thought I would update a little on each of us quickly before another week slipped away.

Luke : He and Dad just finished their first pine wood derby car this week and weighed it in successfully...it is all ready for the big race on Friday night. He painted it red and named it " The Spicy Taco". I was so glad it weighed in as is should...because Seth was busy coaching soccer...and I have NO clue how to alter the car to make it race worthy! Good luck Luke!
Luke also started the spring baseball season....he got drafted by the Cincinnati Reds....we aren't sure if he will be pitching this year or not...he has a few more weeks to figure it all out. They practice 2 x a week....and it seems like a more serious league..... He loves it!
He has a birthday this month....he turns 9!!!! holy crap.

Hope: I will have to post a pic asap...but this week Hope got glasses. She hasn't been able to see a darn thing! I felt so bad.... She is super cute in her new glasses...and enjoys reading all sorts of signs everywhere! Hope is also playing her first ever season of soccer. Seth is her coach and her best friend, caroline is on the team as well. Her and Ella's games have been at exactly the same time...so I haven't got to see her in action yet...but I will this week!! I am excited! Hope has also very much enjoyed having a new baby cousin, Carlie....Adam and Christine's newest addition. Hope loves to hold and feed her...she is such a natural...babies love her..

Ella: Ella continues to enjoy preschool and ballet class....and is playing her first season of soccer as well... She has scored a goal in every game! Go Ella! She looks too cute in her uniform....the trick is keeping her out of the uniform every other day of the week. Ella is such a party to hang out with. I will miss her so much when he goes to kindergarten.....she is one of my best friends! She makes us laugh outloud every day.

Sadie: Well, it looks like we have the ear infections under control....it was rough...poor thing!!! She is sleeping better and seems to be pain free...she was a huge beast for a couple of weeks!!
She is talking more and more ..but prefers to listen and observe. She loves reading books...she will sit and read for a half an hour by herself! It is awesome! She loves her siblings sooooo much....time for another??????( if I could order one online...maybe)

Seth: We are grateful for the tax season this year...probably for the first time ever...for the income..Things are picking up slowly in the business and we hope to recover completely over the next few months. I think Seth is gearing up for a big Triathlon in St. George this Mother's day weekend...so we'll see! Training time isn't exactly plentiful these days. He is enjoying coaching Hope's soccer team and is doing a great job! We sure appreciate all of his hard work!

Me: I am still doing the couch to 5K...I am half way though week 5....of 9....I am getting stronger and I am sticking to it! Thanks goodness for friends that encourage me to go...when I don't want to. I have been doing a little scrapbook for hire work and am finished with my latest project and looking forward to scrapping my own kids for a bit!
We hope all is well with everyone...we love you!

Guess who I met today??????

Okay - so I have 10 mins to run into Albertsons and grab a few things before picking the kids up from school....After parking I notice the license plate on a van a few cars down from me.. SIS SAV.....so I think of Sister savings...( for those of you who don't know what I am talking about, she has her own website where she prints out all of the ad match prices of the week in a PDF. It totally saves me a ton of time and loads of money!)

I totally stalked her through the store and finally got up enough nerve to say something...so I snuck up with her in front of the pork chops and said

"I saw your license plate." ( smooth, eh?)

she looks at me kinda funny....."Oh, the Sister Savings....."

I take a step closer..."Are you really her?" ( I am such a nerd!)

I think she is scared at this point....she smiles and nods, yes.

I literally yell...Oh My Gosh! I love you! I use your website all the time...I am only here without my lists because the strawberries are better here!!!" ( ???? wth?)

The lady thinks I am nuts for sure.

So, I try to act normal and say" I really appreciate all you do on your website....I read on there that you are going to have to start charging money to use it, how much will you charge?"

She goes on to tell me that it was supposed to have happened a long time ago, and people are telling her that she will lose all of her people, and she is making a huge mistake...etc....but she has to, her husband lost income and they can't afford to maintain it anymore.... She is going to charge 5$ a month.

I say" That's perfect...I will stay..it is totally worth it ....I save 150$ a month at least using your lists!

She smiles big and reaches out and hugs me....

Me and Sister Savings embrace in Albertsons!!!

How cool is that?

Shin Splints

Before I go off on how much I hate my legs right now..I have to tell this funny bit. I was searching on the internet for some stretches or treatment I could do for shin splints...I typed in chin splints. I was quickly told that the sure cure for that would be to pick my chin up off the ground while running. Ha!
So, I am on week 3 now of the couch to 5K....some of you are runners out there....help a chubby girl out.... THESE HURT!!! Have you had these? Any relief?
The walking/ running intervals are deadly...it actually doesn't hurt that bad while running...so I look forward to week 9 when I can run the whole thing! Seth promises me new shoes from a good store that has you run on the treadmill and tells you what shoe is best for you!
Bob from the Biggest Loser..my boyfriend....:).....said this week that a large % of people that have support and someone to do a program WITH, succeed. So, thanks to my girls, Kassie and Jaime for staying strong. Now, no more ice cream after our runs!!!!! ( we really have done that...a couple of times..... baby steps, right????)

I Love my Puppies

I am not sure what it is, but my girls are obesessed with puppies. They are constantly trying to sneak food under the table to eat like a puppy, crawling around with their tongues out panting, or barking, yes, barking. I cannot let Ella have her window down in the car...because she goes into full on puppy mode! I get some interesting looks, that is for sure!

Lately Sadie has been crawling around and coming up to you with her tongue out...and she won't leave you alone until you stratch behind her ears and tell her she is a good puppy!!!

If you weren't sure before....we are a STRANGE bunch over here!!!

I tried to get a couple of pics of the puppies in action, but it was hard.

Sadie is covered in egg....in case you were wondering....

Our little ballerina

Ella started her first dance class this month. She is so excited...she insists on wearing her dancewear all day long!!! I can't wait for her first recital!

a new week

Okay...I think this little back episode is over with!!!....I still have a little pain now and again, but I think I am on the mend for sure. I am still excited about getting back on track....I have really been bummed that I couldn't go. I didn't turn to the cheesecake....but I could have done better in that dept. It felt crappy to be out of commission for so long!
We went on a short walk last night...and I felt great....so I will try tonight and see how I do. Thanks for all of the encouraging words!!!
The kids are out of school today....except Ella, she does have preschool. So, today should be a fun day of getting caught up on chores and hanging out!....maybe even a haircut or 2! I will post pics if I get in...I am ready to chop this hair off....it is driving me nuts!

How about those Cardinals?????? I am not one for football....but I live in a house with a couple of sports crazies...so I tuned in. Luke has been working on a project at school about Kurt Warner, our quarterback. He is a really cool guy...and one I am happy for my son to admire. So, then I was all excited and actually wanted him to do well! ....and he did!!! The Cards are going to the Superbowl!!! whoo hoo!!!
We are trying to post a little video of the kids on here....I will try again later!
peace!

Caroline + Running = bad news

I am telling ya, the universe wants me to be fat.
I recently decided that I was going to do the couch to 5K running program....9 weeks to run 5K.
I have a couple of friends on board and Luke likes to do it with me as well. Things have been great..I am getting stronger and feel my body changing....
and then.....I get hurt!!!! EVERY TIME!!!
So frustrating! Last night, my knee swelled up and today my lower back is out!!!!
So, wish me luck to recover quickly and not to drown my sorrows in cheesecake!

Secret Friends

This week for FHE we decided to draw names to have a secret " friend" for the week. The idea was to increase the LOVE...and stop the kids from bickering so much.... We explain ofcourse, that it is a secret..ie...don't tell who you secret friend is...Well, the comedian of the family, Miss Ella didn't take long to have us all laughing...First thing she says is "SHHH!!!Hope, don't tell that you are my secret friend!!!
I gave everyone a candy bar...to give to their secret friend some time this week. We suggested hiding it, until you gave it away, to keep the secret of which bar you had. Ella was excited! But after a couple of days and almost all the candy bars given out we asked Ella privately if she needed some help making a note to go with her candy bar. She informs that she IS hiding the chocolate bar FROM her secret friend....in her room. We tried to explain, but she just cracks us up!
Sorry Hope....you may never get that chocolate bar!!!!
There have been random chores done, beds made, treats given out...and lots of love notes. It has been a great week so far!
I have some pics to post of the kids from the past while....I will try to get back on here later. I am hosting a baby shower for my Sister in Law, Christine, tonight...so I better get a move on it!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day!!
