The end of summer???

I keep hearing everywhere that summer is over and fall is in the air...NOT in ARIZONA!!! It was 114 degrees yesterday!!!...and in a couple of months, the nights will cool down and the mornings will be cool..and we can be outside again ( and not have to be at the pool)
I miss those days!!!
I used to really like fall....we don't have fall here...it seems. Last year I went home in late September. That was fall.... it was delightful!

I always read a whole bunch in the summer...being stuck indoors..and having occasional insomnia. I wondered what all of you have been reading....and don't say scriptures...they don't count for this one. :)
So far, I have read:
Dead Until Dark - book one of the Sookie Stackhouse series...too much vampire sex for my liking...so I am going to skip the series.
Three Cups of Tea - book about a super awesome humanitarian Greg Mortensen...fighting terrorism by educating people....it was long..but I am glad I read it.
Night - a holocaust survival book by Elie Weisel...Knowing he lived made it ok for me to read..I usually can't handle holocaust stuff...it is very upsetting to me. I am glad I read this one though. It was short, but intense and it made me wish I knew a Jewish person that I could hug and say " The suffering of your ancestors is significant to me in my life and I am am so sorry for what they endured.
I started Columbine....by Dave Cullen on CD...but I am 12 on the list at the library..I was 64 at one time!
I want to understand how these things happen..something about this tragedy haunts me. I gave up..and will wait for the book. I am pissed now, that I know that so much info is sealed until 2012...in regards to the families of the shooters...that is an area I was particularly interested in.
I am weird, I know.
I almost finished the Potato Peel Society one...but I should have known better than to read something like that...I hate movies like that...so I bailed...Christine told me the end though.
Expecting Adam...just started... I love true stories....
and I have Jennifer Weiner's Best Friends Forever to read in the next 2 weeks as well.

So, what are you reading these days? I am interested!

Hmm, what you are reading seems pretty deep. Lately, I have been reading in the junior fiction. One that was quick, four books, The Lightening Thief, I really enjoyed. I just read one also called The Hunger Games. It is the first book of who knows how many and the next one comes out in September. Um, one other, Found, by Haddix. Another quick read. Anyway. Good luck!

I'm reading LDS authors of suspense books. Because my mom likes them, so she has a huge collection that I can take advantage of. They aren't always the best, but it's something. I would like to check out some the aboved mentioned. I'm a fan of reading the junior fiction stuff as well. That way it stays clean. And thanks for the heads up on the vampire book!

I just finished the City of Bones, the City of Ashes and the City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. I really liked them...they are young adult. I just started Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and it's been good so far. Thanks for the book ideas!! I love book recommendations! You all should venture up our way, it's been in the 80s and 90s the last few days!!

I am sad summer is fading away here in PA...we need to switch for a couple of weeks...except I think the worst possible life stage is selling your house so I will pass! As for book...I read My Sister's Keeper...HATED IT! But that is just me! I hate it when they are switching time lines and characters all the time...and the ending sucked!

Wow, you are quite the literature hound! I am addicted to Twilight, just finished the 3rd book and am going to harass my friend until she lends me the 4th. Better than the movie, by far. If you find something great let me know, I will need something new when I finish the 4th book! Miss you lots!
