Today is Canada's birthday!!! Happy Birthday Home....I miss you SOOO much!!! ( especially when it hits 110 dregrees here!)
Summer is in full swing around here.....late nights, sleeping in, swim suits and towels all over the house and popsicle faces!!!! I wish I could post some pics...but our camera died. But if I were to post pics....that is what they would be of!!!
I took the kids to a friend's pool today....they are out of town and offered for us to use their pool.... complete with water slide and waterfall. Ella took off her floaties today and swam across the pool, back and forth..with no help!!!! She is such a little fish! Seth can hardly wait to sign her up for swim team next year!! He assures me that there is nothing quite like a little kid swim meet.
Luke starts basketball camp on Monday...afternoons all week,...he is pumped! I will be glad for a break from the "I'm bored" comments!!! We are holding off for Fall activities for the girls, dance and ice skating..if they ever finish the ice rink out here!!!
Hard to believe that there are less than 5 weeks left in summer vacation!!! The kids go back on Aug 4!!! Crazy!!!! We still have a few things we have been meaning to get in over the break..like some more camping, a drive in movie, and maybe a couple of sleep overs. Some friends of ours scored us some D Backs tickets for this Saturday...sounds like great seats....so we are excited about that!!!
This Wednesday Seth and I will have been married 9 years!!!! Crazy! I think anniversaries are something the husband should take the initiative on....could just be me....could just be that I just really want that...I wonder if all the ladies do stuff as well....you ladies will all have to fill me in...
and...this Saturday we also celebrate my re'birthday..( hee hee!) I will have been a member of the Church for 11 years. Look at me in the double digits!!! Time sure has flown by!
We hope everyone is having a great summer...I will post some pics as soon as I get a new camera!
peace!!

I hope you don't mind me commenting, but my sister Tiffany had this great idea of switching off for anniversaries, you plan one year, seth the next and so on. It is great because when it isn't your year you get to expect to be somewhat surprised and often do something different. good luck!
melissa (mel for short) jardine howlett (just in case you were wondering!)
Sounds like you guys are having a GREAT summer and making fun memories as a family. :)
I like Mel's idea for sure. We have started switching off every year to celebrate our anniversary and it's been soooo fun. It adds an element of surprise, and it's keeps the love alive. It's so fun to find new ways to show my love for him. We actually visit a new temple every year, just to help us remember the first time we were sealed. But you wouldn't have to go anywhere necessarily. You could just maybe put the kids to bed early, and plan a really nice and romanitic dinner at home just for the two of you. Just an idea! :)
Sounds like you are a busy family... I am looking forward to the day that we have Basketball camp and dance classes and summer vacay!! But I am sure when it comes I will be longing for the simpler days!! Glad I found your blog... it's way cute!!
Hey you left out a trip to the "Burgh" on your things you want to do this summer!!! I miss the little purple, red and orange faces!
