Meet Daisy

Here is the newest member of our family....Daisy....the kids adore her.....I think I may have lost my mind to take on any extra right now...but oh well! She sure is a cutie!

Pictures...FINALLY!!!

I scored a camera for Mother's Day....so I can finally post some pics....

Luke's baseball season ended...the Reds had a good season...Luke won most improved player on his team. We had a fun pool party to celebrate the season. It was a big committment on all our parts....we are signed up to do it all again in the fall!...we might be crazy.

Eat Meat

Well, veggie boy got his results of his cholesterol back....and he was less than pleased. After enduring a month of never quite feeling full or satisfied.... eating on average 10 bowls of cold cereal a day, and not eating ANY meat at all....hoping that this nasty high cholesterol issue would be remedied......
(it just dawned on me that he might not want me to post the actual number on here.....he is asleep, so I can't ask....)
Let's just say it went UP.......not down, like he had hoped. :(
While I am sad that my husband's arteries are hardening as we speak, I will be grateful for a meat eating man back in our house!!! Seriously...I could barely figure out what to cook most nights!!! Hopefully, he will be full ...and not so grumpy. :)... AND we can find a way to lower his cholesterol.
As for the rest of us.....Luke gets to pitch this Tuesday at his baseball game....The Reds are in a bit of a slump.
Ella has a dance recital coming up.....the kid's are almost done with school....Hope was her normal sweet self all week...loaning her brother money, so he could buy his own ticket to the Dbacks game last Saturday. ( usually she just gives it away.....she is a saint, I tell ya!) Sadie had a bad fall off the bathroom counter onto the tile....there were lots of tears, her , Ella and myself....We thought we might have to take her to the ER.....and rack up another $10,000 bill. Thanks Michelle for calling Dr. Grandpa and helping me feel better. It was scary!!! I absolutely hate worrying about health care costs when my babies are hurt!!!!!! She's all good, though....Everytime she climbs up on something I now say, Oh No, Sadie, we don't want you to get another ow-wee....and she quickly grabs the back of her head and says "ow-wee" with her best hurt face...and backs down.

The Jardines are coming into town next week, and the week after that BOTH of my sisters are coming here for my nephew's wedding....yes I am old enough to have a nephew that is of appropriate marrying age.... :)
I am sooooooo looking forward to some sister time......
I seriously need a new camera....or any camera at this point...
I am sick of my writing...so I can't imagine what the rest of my readers feel!!!!

I am a bad blogger

You know it's bad when you can't remember your password to log in and update your blog....that about sums up the week had by me around here. I'll spare you the deets and tell you how everyone else in the family is doing....
Seth is done with tax season....woo hoo! and...oh, crap.... all at the same time. With losing so much business...we were very grateful for the extra work and income tax season brought with it this year.....We are hoping for some new business here soon.
He has also decided for the last few weeks...he is a vegetarian. A grumpy one, at that. The man needs some protein!!! He is hoping to lower his cholesterol....he will be tested in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
Luke is 3 and 3 in his baseball season, barely losing to the DRays today.10-8. He played well...but is always so hard on himself...he is his own toughest critic, that is for sure. Linda assures me that Seth was this way....and grew out of it...so here's hoping. It was a hot day today...I got sunburned....but I still had fun cheering on my boy. It is so exciting and nerve racking, and fun!!! Competition doesn't always bring out the best in me...and I know I could be better in helping Luke deal with the stresses of team sports. Today, he came to me, and told me that one boy on his team kept shouting at him that he was supposed to cover second...( no play at the time)..Luke acknowledged him, and he wouldn't stop. So, what does the good example parent suggst he tell the team mate. "Tell him to shut his pie hole, he's not your coach!"
Luke seemed satisfied.

yep, no Mother of the year award here.

Hope had her last soccer game this morning....with Dad as her fabulous coach. They had a great season and all wanted Seth to coach again in the fall. Hope really improved over the season, and is one heck of a defender...that now scores a goal every game. go Hope!!!
She had some friends out shopping today and then over for a little American Idol on the Wii...good times. I am still planning on posting a pic of her in her new glasses, but I lost the camera.
Ella finished up her soccer season as well today. She pretty much hated it. She loves her trophy and the snacks that follow the game. Maybe T'ball in the fall. She only has a month left of preschool and then begins swim lessons again! She is so funny, I am so glad I get her home for another year!!! What will Sadie do with her???? She runs and embraces her when she is gone to ballet...
What will I do????
Miss Sadie....she has had a rough week. I am assuming she is teething....the last of her teeth are coming in. She has been difficult and demanding....hopefully teething and not just the terrible 2's around the corner. She is talking so much more, and can count to 4. ( very sweetly I might add)...gotta love baby pronounciation..... She is the official dancer of any and all music at our house....we love it!

we are blessed.....

Nine

Well, yesterday my baby boy turned the ripe 'ol age of 9!!!!!! This one has been a hard one for me....I fought back tears at his baseball game every time I thought about it...and looking through his first year scrapbook was tough too!!! He asked me to come have lunch with him at school on Friday...while there all I could think of was how big he was and how he didn't need me as much anymore...I asked him if I could kiss him at school and he said "no." :(

My baby is growing up too fast!!! Seth always makes references like...7 more years and he'll be driving, or 10 yrs and he will be on his mission, We could be grandparents in this many years...... AHHHH!!!!! ...............make it stop!!!

I must say he is a good boy. I am grateful for his love. He is a great big brother....most of the time!!! Sadie and Ella adore him...he is patient and loving to them. He and Hope are really great friends...but he would not admit that. I tell him all the time.... Your sisters will always be there for you throughout your life......and they are going to have alot of cute friends.......so, you better be nice!!!! :) Thankfully that goes over his head at this point....and girls still have cooties. :)

I will spare you all the very long list of reasons why I think Luke is the bomb....but he is a prince and I love the garbage out of him!!!...and he is a good example to ME.

I have to tell you...that at his baseball game yesterday...it was opening day for the Cincinnati Reds....he wore his uniform # 9....on his 9th birthday...and he scored run #9 for his team!!!!

how cool is that?

Happy Birthday Bubba!!!!

a little update

Hi all! I just didn't want another week to go by without updating a few cool things that happened this week. First of all, Miss Hope....had a great soccer game on Saturday...scoring 2 goals (on defense) and preventing about 100 goals from being scored on her team. She rocks! The blue dolphins came out victorious against the pink cheetahs 5-3!! ( can you tell these are all girls teams that picked their own names???:)

The kids are on Spring Break this week.....It has been nice to just chill out. I am all about staying up late and sleeping in!
Luke was able to go to the Parley P. Pratt Party in our Ward this week....where they listen to the whole Book of Mormon on CD and follow along. They began at 6:45 am...and finished at 11 pm. Luke stayed strong and completed the whole thing! Not bad for an 8 yr old!!! We are so proud of him! ( this was all his idea, too)
The kids were probably hoping to do more fun things this week...but we had an unexpected kidney stone rear it's ugly head this week. I spent one night in the ER..and am home now recovering. I am mostly sore and tired at this point...hopefully the worst of it is over. Man, kidney stones are the worst things EVER! Let's all hope this one passes on it's own and won't require surgery. This couldn't have happened while we were insured.....ofcourse. There goes our 10 yr anniversary trip!!!! :( :( :(
oh well...I am just grateful to not be in pain at this point.

March Madness

It feels like madness...and the "official" madness hasn't even begun!

Wow....it has been awhile. The last few weeks have flown by! My roommate from university was in town for a week with her family....then Sadie had a double ear infection....that didn't get better until the 2nd round of antibiotics....The kids have been busy with activities....Seth is busy with tax season...Sheesh!
I just thought I would update a little on each of us quickly before another week slipped away.

Luke : He and Dad just finished their first pine wood derby car this week and weighed it in successfully...it is all ready for the big race on Friday night. He painted it red and named it " The Spicy Taco". I was so glad it weighed in as is should...because Seth was busy coaching soccer...and I have NO clue how to alter the car to make it race worthy! Good luck Luke!
Luke also started the spring baseball season....he got drafted by the Cincinnati Reds....we aren't sure if he will be pitching this year or not...he has a few more weeks to figure it all out. They practice 2 x a week....and it seems like a more serious league..... He loves it!
He has a birthday this month....he turns 9!!!! holy crap.

Hope: I will have to post a pic asap...but this week Hope got glasses. She hasn't been able to see a darn thing! I felt so bad.... She is super cute in her new glasses...and enjoys reading all sorts of signs everywhere! Hope is also playing her first ever season of soccer. Seth is her coach and her best friend, caroline is on the team as well. Her and Ella's games have been at exactly the same time...so I haven't got to see her in action yet...but I will this week!! I am excited! Hope has also very much enjoyed having a new baby cousin, Carlie....Adam and Christine's newest addition. Hope loves to hold and feed her...she is such a natural...babies love her..

Ella: Ella continues to enjoy preschool and ballet class....and is playing her first season of soccer as well... She has scored a goal in every game! Go Ella! She looks too cute in her uniform....the trick is keeping her out of the uniform every other day of the week. Ella is such a party to hang out with. I will miss her so much when he goes to kindergarten.....she is one of my best friends! She makes us laugh outloud every day.

Sadie: Well, it looks like we have the ear infections under control....it was rough...poor thing!!! She is sleeping better and seems to be pain free...she was a huge beast for a couple of weeks!!
She is talking more and more ..but prefers to listen and observe. She loves reading books...she will sit and read for a half an hour by herself! It is awesome! She loves her siblings sooooo much....time for another??????( if I could order one online...maybe)

Seth: We are grateful for the tax season this year...probably for the first time ever...for the income..Things are picking up slowly in the business and we hope to recover completely over the next few months. I think Seth is gearing up for a big Triathlon in St. George this Mother's day weekend...so we'll see! Training time isn't exactly plentiful these days. He is enjoying coaching Hope's soccer team and is doing a great job! We sure appreciate all of his hard work!

Me: I am still doing the couch to 5K...I am half way though week 5....of 9....I am getting stronger and I am sticking to it! Thanks goodness for friends that encourage me to go...when I don't want to. I have been doing a little scrapbook for hire work and am finished with my latest project and looking forward to scrapping my own kids for a bit!
We hope all is well with everyone...we love you!
